Incoloy 800 is an alloy formed by combining three elements i.e. nickel-iron-chromium. This alloy possesses great strength and high resistance to oxidization and carburization in high-temperature procedures. Incoloy 800, 800H and 800HT are similar, though alloy 800H carries greater percentage of carbon besides an addition of 1.20% aluminum and titanium. The first alloy that was formed out of these was incoloy 800 and then it was modified into incoloy 800H and finally to incoloy 800HT. Another alloy that was further formed by combining the two alloys (800H/HT) and is known as incoloy 800H/HT. This nickel alloy contains the characteristics of both the forms and the core purpose behind its formation is high temperature structural applications. Nickel present in this alloy strengthens it to resist chloride stress-corrosion cracking and prevents the loss of ductility. The alloy is superb with its corrosion resistance.
Properties of incoloy 800H/HT
• High temperature strength
• High creep rupture strength
• Excellent immunity to oxidation and carburization in the high temperature procedures
• Superb corrosion resistance in variety of acidic procedures
• Great ability to resist most processes that include Sulphur
